RankingBall is Here to Fix Daily Fantasy

When founded in 2014, there were issues within the daily fantasy, i-gaming, and esports industries that RankingBall was blueprinted to solve. Now is that time that RankingBall is ready to take on those challenges. This article takes a look into those issues and how RankingBall plans to take them on.

Daily Fantasy Skill Inequality

There’s a reason why we have to remind the average daily fantasy player not to “quit your day job,” and that’s because of the imbalance of winners in the established daily fantasy sports market. In today’s established DFS markets, 92% of the total prizes are won by only 1.5% of its players. Pro DFS players spend hours researching stats and practicing in order to compete and make money. However, most of the average players on these platforms don’t have the necessary time or resources to compete with the pros, leaving them at a disadvantage. RankingBall believes that everyone should have the same opportunities to have fun playing daily fantasy and chances to win, instead of wasting your time and money.

Just like matchmaking for online video games, one of the first steps that RankingBall will take is setting up skill levels within its platform. RankingBall will keep track of each player’s performance on the platform, like the number of contests entered and won, and use this data appropriately match them up with players of the same skill level. Coming down to that newcomers will play with newcomers, average players will play with average players, and experienced players will play with experienced players.

While skill is still a factor when playing on, it’s RankingBall’s gameplay that sets it apart from the rest. Yes, there are elements in RankingBall that would be familiar to veterans of Fantasy Sports and DFS like drafting players and setting a lineup, but that’s where the comparisons end.

Here’s how RankingBall is different and tries to even the playing field. Contests on RankingBall are centered around a single live event. This means that players who enter the contest are all offered the same players on the two respected teams playing. There’s no salary cap rule in RankingBall, giving users the freedom to choose any player they like, as long as it’s one from each team, to fill up their roster. Finally there is the Bingo element itself. Instead of numbers being called, real game events like hits, touchdowns, 3-pointers, and goals are automatically daubed on the Bingo card that the users created themselves. Those big-time plays that happen in a real game, now have more significance to the points you can earn.

Sports and Esports fans can now enjoy a more fun way to play and watch live sporting events while using RankingBall. Users become more informed and stimulated due to RankigBall’s real-time stats and instant gameplay feedback.

With the advent of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, there has been a complete disruption across a wide swath of industries. However, established markets that could easily benefit with the adoption of cryptocurrency like daily fantasy and i-gaming have failed to do so. This is either because those businesses have been slow to adopt or they haven’t figured out a the proper way to utilize it in their revenue models.

Fortunately, RankingBall was established to use cryptocurrency from its conception. With it’s blockchain issued token, RankingBall Gold (RBG) looks to improve convenience for users and makes games more fun, while also increasing the efficiency and security on its platform. RBG is a decentralized ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain. It enables RankingBall to develop a new and innovative cryptocurrency ecosystem within the platform, using smart contract technology.

Until now, gaming companies have spent enormous time and money to comply with local rules, regulations and licensing requirements related to gaming, payments, KYC and AML before they can launch their businesses. By issuing its Ethereum-based RankingBall Gold (RBG) token, and linking our Ranking Ball Silver (RBS) virtual money to fiat currency, we solve many of the issues related regulations across multiple regions. This allows RankingBall to create a new player contest system with an entry fee and reward structure.

In addition to the in-platform token economy, RankingBall offers a loyalty program in partnership with external platforms to create a thriving symbiotic economy for all those involved. This will allow RankingBall to not only lead the sports/esports gaming frontier, but also create a whole new ecosystem that connects gamers, sports/esports media, and game developer/publisher.

Esports Market

The esports market is growing at an unprecedented pace, but betting and fantasy sites are still trying to figure out how to fully utilize it on their platforms. While others still look at esports as an secondary addition to their main platform, RankingBall treats it as an equal to traditional sports. However, since it’s still in its beginning stages there are still issues surrounding esports that need to be kinked out.

While its popularity is growing rapidly, the revenue model that exists in esports businesses are still limited to only using sponsored ads in game streams. Our new and innovative reward system and spectator games are built on a cryptocurrency economy. This blockchain technology is what makes RankingBall’s decentralized player matchmaking and rewards system possible. These are integrated into smart contracts, allowing RankingBall to expand into P2P skill matching games and create a new ecosystem for esports media, game developers, and ad sponsors. We believe this ecosystem will allow RankingBall to not only lead the sports/esports gaming frontier, but also create a whole new revenue model that connects and rewards gamers, sports/esports media, and game developer/publishers.

Online game-streaming has already become its own form of video media content, but there is a need among the viewers for a new and more interactive experience to go along with the live-streams. With RankingBall, players can easily connect their Bingo cards to live events on TV, streamed online, or in a stadium. The world’s first esports real-time data feed makes spectator gaming, by using a second screen with your phone or computer possible. This adds a new layer of fun for the streamers or tournament organizers to interact with their fans. RankingBall is optimized to make the gameplay fun in and of itself, rather than focusing solely on monetary rewards.

The absence of standardized esports leagues and teams makes it difficult to analyze data and make a strategic choice in creating a virtual esports fantasy team; in fact, there is no firm that has succeeded in this area. RankingBall is the first platform of our time to make real-time interaction possible by integrating live data into its gameplay. RankingBall is at least two years ahead of its competition, based on the last four years of development, beta testing and current market dynamics. To do this RankingBall had to optimize each data source, the game logic, create a scoring system and the broadcast delay for each sport and broadcaster. Existing sports i-gaming and fantasy sports have so far failed to do this.

Existing sports i-gaming companies have adopted esports betting in order to capture millennials, but the gameplay is still simple: predicting the outcome of the game. In RankingBall’s opinion, with will not drive more audiences to spectate that event. And today’s esports fantasy games that do not reflect the real-time events (e.g. Kill, Deaths, and Assists) are not exciting enough to appeal millennials. By targeting millennials and focusing on their wants, we will boost the popularity of daily fantasy esports by having real-time interaction, a more exciting and strategic game UI & logic, optimized scoring & reward system, and dynamic data visualization.
